Five Best 6’7″ NBA Players
Here are my picks of the five best 6’7″ players currently in the NBA (in no particular order).
- Luka Doncic
- Jimmy Butler
- Kawhi Leonard
- LaMelo Ball
- Khris Middleton
Don’t agree? Let me know in the comments at the bottom of the post.
Luka Doncic, Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic has been a superstar the moment he entered the NBA (2018 – present).
At just 24 years old, Luka has already become a perennial MVP candidate. He has averaged over 20 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds per game every year of his career. At time of writing this, he is averaging 33ppg, 8.3apg, 9.3rpg!
Some of his NBA achievements include: 4x All-NBA First Team, 4x All-Star, Rookie of the Year (2019), and All-Rookie First Team (2019).
Before joining the NBA, Luka was also a Euroleague MVP and Champion in 2018 (at just 19 years old)!
Luka is easily the best young player (under 25) in the NBA right now, and looks to only get better over the next few years as he enters his prime.
Jimmy Butler, Miami Heat
Jimmy Butler is known as one of the toughest competitors, and best two way (i.e. offense + defense) players in the league. He does whatever is needed for his team to win.
The 34 year old is currently in his 13th NBA season (2011-present), and his fourth NBA team (Chicago, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Miami).
Butler has one of the most impressive career improvement stories in NBA history. He only averaged 2.6ppg in his rookie season. Since then, he has averaged over 18ppg in the previous 10 seasons.
Some of his NBA career achievements include: 5x All-NBA Team (1x Second Team, 4x Third Team), 6x All-Star, 5x All-Defensive Second Team, Most Improved Player (2015), and NBA steals leader (2021).
Butler has also made the NBA Finals twice (2021, 2023), but has never won.
☕️ In 2020, Jimmy Butler started his own coffee company called Bigface Coffee.
Kawhi Leonard, LA Clippers
Kawhi Leonard, a.k.a. “The Klaw”, is one of the most dominant players in the NBA … when healthy. His size, strength, athleticism, skill, and basketball IQ make him perhaps the best two way player (i.e. offense + defense) in the league…when healthy.
The only knock against Kawhi is that he is often injured. In the past five years, he has never played over 60 games in one season (regular season).
Despite his lack of availability, Kawhi has racked up some impressive achievements: 2x NBA Champ (2014 Spurs, 2019 Raptors), 2x Finals MVP, 5x All-Star, All-Star Game MVP (2020), 5x All-NBA Team (3x First, 2x Second), 2x Defensive Player of the Year, 7x All Defensive Team (3x First, 4x Second), All-Rookie First Team (2012), NBA steals leader (2015).
He was also named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
Kawhi is currently in his 12th NBA season (2012), and will look to get one more chip with a stacked LA Clippers team featuring Paul George, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook.
LaMelo Ball, Charlotte Hornets
LaMelo Ball is one of the best young players in the league. His flashy play style and undeniable talent make him of the most exciting players to watch.
LaMelo is just 22 years old, and already in his fourth NBA season (2020-present).
Some of his achievements in his young career include: NBA All-Star (2022), NBA Rookie of the Year (2021), All-Rookie First Team (2021).
He has improved every season so far, going from 15.7ppg / 6.1apg as a rookie to 23.3ppg / 8.4apg last season (2022-2023).
Before joining the NBA, LaMelo played professional overseas in Lithuania (2018) as a 17 year old, and in Australia (2019-2020) as an 18 year old.
Khris Middleton, Milwaukee Bucks
Khris Middleton is often overlooked as a top player, but he has been one of the most consistent and reliable players over the past 5-6 seasons.
Middleton is in his 12th NBA season (2012-present), and may be the most successful player ever to come out of the G League.
Some of his achievements include: NBA Champ (2021), 3x NBA All-Star.
He has also averaged double figures scoring for 10 straight seasons — every season of his career except his rookie year (2012-2013).
Middleton also won an Olympic Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
