All Current 6’2″ NBA Players (2023-2024)

There are currently 21 players in the NBA that are 6’2″ tall (approximately 1.88m).

The total number of players in the NBA is currently 537 (including G League Two Way Players). This means that approximately 3.91% of all NBA players right now are 6 feet 2 inches tall.

The list of NBA players who are 6’2″, includes mainly pure point guards (e.g. Jalen Brunson, Damian Lillard), and combo guards that play both PG/SG (e.g. Kyrie Irving, Steph Curry). There are even a couple of undersized “forwards” (e.g. Gary Payton II, Nick Smith Jr.)

Top 5 Current 6’2″ NBA Players

Here are my picks of the five best 6’2″ players currently in the NBA (in order by last name):

  • Jalen Brunson
  • Stephen Curry
  • Kyrie Irving
  • Damian Lillard
  • Ja Morant

Don’t agree? Let me know in the comments at the bottom of the post.

Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks

Jalen Brunson has been one of the most improved, and unexpected star players over the last couple of seasons.

Despite not being the tallest, fastest, or most athletic players in the league, Brunson has been able to dominate his position with his craftiness, grit, and unique shot making ability.

Brunson is currently in his 6th NBA season (2018-present), and second team (Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks).

After a mediocre start to his career, Brunson’s play has exploded over the past couple of seasons. His scoring has gone from 9ppg –> 24ppg over the past 5 seasons. He is currently averaging around 26ppg (2023-2024).

Some of Brunson’s other NBA achievements include: 1x All-Star (2024).

Brunson is currently 27 years old, and entering the prime of his career. The Knicks are also a vastly improved team, so we should be seeing much more of Jalen Brunson over the next few seasons.

Go to school: Brunson is also one of the best college players in recent memory, having won two NCAA championships (2016, 2018), as well as winning player of the year in 2018.

Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Stephen Curry is the undisputed greatest shooter of all time.

His ridiculous outside shooting ability opened people’s eyes to the power of the 3-pointer, and helped revolutionize the game of basketball. Nowadays, every single team focuses heavily on 3-point shooting. Thanks to Steph Curry.

Curry’s career actually started out relatively slow, due to multiple injuries. Eventually, he was able to overcome those injuries, and blossom into a multiple MVP and championship winning player.

Curry is currently in his 15th NBA season, all with the Golden State Warriors. He has averaged over 20 points per game for 11 straight seasons.

Some of his NBA achievements include: 4x NBA Champ; 1x Finals MVP; 2x MVP; 10x All-Star; All-Star Game MVP; 9x All-NBA Team(4x First, 4x Second, 1x Third); All-Rookie First Team; 2x Scoring Champ; 2x Three-Point Contest Champ; 1x Steals Leader; 1x member of 50-40-90 club; Sportsmanship Award (2011); and, member of NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team.

He also holds multiple NBA records: Most 3-pointers made in history; most 3-pointers made in a single season; most consecutive games with 3-pointer made; most 3-pointers in playoff history; and many, many more.

Steph is currently 35 years old, and should be leaving the prime of his career. He is still performing at a ridiculously high level though (28ppg, 5apg, 4rpg), so he may have many more seasons left in the tank.

In any case, make sure you take some time to appreciate watching the greatest shooter to ever live while you can.

🤯 Greatest Warrior ever: Steph holds the Warriors franchise records for most points, assists, steals, field goals made, 3-pointers made, games played, minutes played, free throw %, and more.

Kyrie Irving, Dallas Mavericks

Kyrie Irving, a.k.a. “Uncle Drew“, is one of the most skilled offensive players in NBA history.

He is best known for his creative dribbling/handles, uncanny ability to score around the rim (with either hand), and big time shot making.

Unfortunately, Kyrie is also known for his weird controversial comments (e.g. “The world is flat” 😂), and other actions that have tarnished his image/career a bit.

Kyrie is currently in his 13th NBA season, and 4th team (Cleveland, Boston, Brooklyn, Dallas). He has averaged over 20ppg in all but two seasons.

Some of his other NBA achievements include: NBA champ (2016); 8x All-Star; All-Star Game MVP; 3x All-NBA Team (1x Second, 2x Third); 1x member of 50-40-90 club; Rookie of the Year; All-Rookie First Team; Three-Point Contest Champ.

Kyrie also won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

He is currently 31 years old, in the prime of his career, and teamed up with another superstar (Luka Doncic) on a strong Dallas Mavericks squad.

Despite his strange off-the-court antics, Kyrie is still one of the most entertaining NBA players to watch in game. We should at least get some more great highlights from Uncle Drew.

Damian Lillard, Milwaukee Bucks

Damian Lillard, a.k.a “Dame Time”, is one of the best shooters, and most clutch players in the NBA.

He is known for his explosive scoring ability, and super deep shooting range (i.e. half-court).

If not for Steph Curry (listed above), he may be considered the best 3 point shooter currently in the league.

Lillard is in his 12th NBA season, and second team (Portland, Milwaukee). He has averaged 19 or more points every year of his career so far.

Some of his other NBA achievements, include: 7x All-NBA Team (1x First, 4x Second, 2x Third), 8x All-Star, All-Star Game MVP, 2x Three-Point Contest Champion, Rookie of the Year, All-Rookie First Team; and member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.

Dame also won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Dame is currently 33 years old, and maybe nearing the end of his prime. The one knock against Dame has been his lack of playoff success.

To put an end to that talk, Dame has teamed up with superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in Milwaukee, and should have a decent shot at winning it all over the next couple of seasons.

🎵Dame D.O.L.L.A. : Lillard is also known as one of the best rappers in the NBA. He has released four albums so far. My favorite song is “Kobe”, which is also one of the best basketball songs of all time.

Ja Morant, Memphis Grizzlies

Ja Morant is maybe the most electrifying player currently in the NBA.

He is known for his fearless attacking style, and explosive leaping ability which he often uses to make highlight reel alley-oops, and posterizing dunks.

Ja is so fun to watch that he reminds me of a mixture between Allen Iversion and Vince Carter.

Morant is more than just dunks and highlights though. He is also a great play maker, and clutch scorer. He has averaged over 25ppg and 8apg in the previous two seasons.

Some of his other NBA achievements include: 2x All-Star, All-NBA Second Team, Most Improved Player (2022), Rookie of the Year, and All-Rookie First Team.

Morant is just 24 years old, and in his 5th NBA season (2019-present), all with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Unfortunately, this season (2023-24) has been lost to suspension/injury, but I expect to see much more of Ja over the next few years.

🚀 LeBron James once described Morant as having “rockets in his calf muscles” after Morant made an incredible two handed chase down block.
