Top 3 Current 6’1″ NBA Players

Here are my picks of the three best 6’1″ players currently in the NBA (in order by last name):

  • Darius Garland
  • Dennis Schroder
  • Trae Young

Don’t agree? Let me know in the comments at the bottom of the post.

Darius Garland, Cleveland Cavaliers

Darius Garland is one of the best young, up-and-coming guards in the NBA.

He is currently in his 5th NBA season (2019-present), all with the Cleveland Cavaliers. He is an elite outside shooter, ball handler, and playmaker.

Garland has also shown tremendous improvement over the past few seasons. His scoring/assists has gone from 12ppg/4apg his rookie year, to 21ppg/8apg last season (2022-2023).

Some of his other NBA achievements include: 1x All-Star (2022).

Garland is currently just 24 years old, and yet to reach the prime of his career. If he can stay healthy, we should be seeing much more from the exciting young guard over the next few seasons.

Dennis Schröder, Brooklyn Nets

Dennis Schroder has been a solid point guard in the NBA for the past decade.

He is currently in his 11th NBA season and 7th team (Atlanta, OKC, LA Lakers, Boston, Houston, Toronto, Brooklyn).

Schroder’s best years were probably in Atlanta, where he once averaged over 19ppg, 6apg, and 1spg. He has also averaged double digit scoring for 10 straight seasons.

In 2020, Schroder was the runner up for the 6th Man of the year Award (won by Montrezl Harrell)

While he has not won many awards or achievements in the NBA, Schroder did lead Germany to a gold medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. He was also the MVP of the tournament.

🇩🇪 Hometown hero: Schroder owns a professional basketball team in his hometown of Braunschweig, Germany called Basketball Löwen Braunschweig

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks

Trae Young, a.k.a “Ice Trae“, is one of the best scoring guards currently in the NBA.

He is known for his deep 3-point shooting range, playmaking, clutch scoring, and uncanny ability to draw fouls to get free throws. His foul drawing ability has also made him one of the most disliked players by opposing teams and fans.

Trae is currently in his 6th NBA season (2019-present), all with the Atlanta Hawks. He has averaged over 25 ppg, and 9 apg for four straight seasons.

Some of Trae’s other NBA achievements, include: 1x All-NBA Third Team, 3x All-Star, All-Rookie First Team.

Trae Young is still just 25 years old, and entering the prime of his career. Despite his small stature, Trae has proven that he can be a dominant offensive player in the NBA.

The Hawks are currently not very good, but we should still be seeing much more of Ice Trae over the next few seasons.
